Our Summer event is a ‘Come and Sing’ with the theme ‘Music for a Royal Occasion’, prompted by
The King’s official birthday. The music is taken from coronations, funerals and weddings from the
past 100 years and features a wide range of styles and composers:
Parry, C.H.H – I Was Glad – Performed QEII & KCIII coronations
Handel, G.F – Zadok the Priest – Performed at most coronations
Vaughan Williams, R – O Taste and See – Performed at QEII coronation
Willan, H – O Lord Our Governour – Performed at QEII coronation
Brass/organ interlude
Rowlands, W – Love Divine – Performed at QEII funeral
Tallis, T – If Ye Love Me – Performed at Prince Philip’s funeral
Trad. Kyiv – Kontakion of the Dead – Performed at QEII funeral
Rutter, J – This Is the Day – Performed at PW & PK wedding
Lloyd Webber, A – Make A Joyful Noise – Performed at KCIII coronation
Williams, W – Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer
It promises to be a fun day of exciting, bombastic and truly regal music.

17:00 – Informal performance
17:45 – Drinks reception
18.30 – Event finishes
Tickets are £25 on the door or £20 in advance which includes scores and a buffet lunch.
